Ashburn is going crazy

Huge bidding wars, existing homes going for way over list, average-sized new construction homes by mediocre builders selling at $1.5m+. This is ASHBURN. The world is changing!

I’ve noticed that too
Over the summer the prices sky rocketed

I had to google what Ashburn is. It is almost West Virginia- that is crazy why anyone would live there.

It’s happening everywhere OP, not specific to Ashburn

Ashburn is just too far and barren. Nothing there, only new cookie cutter neighborhoods.

Omg, it’s not that far. It’s a nice planned community right up Toll Road, built from green field so no apartments or pockets of lower income, so it’s called Cashburn by locals.

If you want wide open spaces but still hit DC for occasional meeting, it’s the bees knees

What is the “something” you’re looking for?

It's Ashburn. Hard pass.

I understand the appeal. I have several friends who built out there about 10 years ago. We considered it because my husband was working in Ashburn at that point, but wound up sticking with an older area still in Fairfax. Happy we did in the end, but I still understand the draw for newer housing.

I just don’t understand how the run up in housing prices everywhere is sustainable. It’s insane.

It’s nickname is AssBurn as that is what your Ass will feel like after commuting from that far out

It’s an eyesore with all the data centers.

Housing prices may be up somewhat, but housing payments barely have changed in the last few years due to lower rates offsetting higher prices. Whenever rates rise significantly, that will be the real hit.
