Best pads for 12 year old

Anonymous
My DS just got her period. I haven’t had mine in 10 years.

What are the best pads that would fit a smaller body?

I did get those period underwear that holds the pad in better. What a change from my days!

Thanks!

If I was a 12 year old now I wouldn’t f*** with pads at all and just use the period panties

My 12 year old likes the Thinx undies.

Mine just got hers recently as well. I bought her a few different kinds and let her tell me which she liked best. She likes the Kotex ultra thin security line.
Also bought a pair of period underwear to try out as well.

There's one marketed for teens, when I brought DD to the store, that's what she picked.

My teens like Always Ultra Thin with wings, size 1. I myself use Kotex thin, no wings. They never leak despite not having wings.

Depends on how heavy the period is. My DD has a few months of really light, irregular periods (wearing liners is fine) then it became really heavy and she satarted wearing my Always thin pads (and longer pads for night time). She's wearing period underwear as a back-up (sometimes she forgot to put on a new pad). I highly recommend start wearing liners so your DD can get used to changing them, disposing them appropriately, etc.

Not every 12 yr old is bleeding so little that period panties will work. When I got my period I wore pads and had to get up around midnight and 4am to change my pads because I bleed so much. I've always been a heavy bleeder.

Thanks everyone. Didn’t know they came in sizes so that was helpful.

I did buy period panties but there is a slot for a pad. Maybe I bough the wrong thing.

Anyway how would it work without a pad? How often would they have to change?

My daughter has Thinx that she wears without a pad on day 3-4 of her period. Day 1 and 2 she needs a thin pad which she wears with the period panty as a back up.

On day 3-4 it lasts the whole day.

Most teens start with teens pads but quickly switch to a cup: easy, sustainable and can deal with heavy flow

I love Rael organic. Can also get on Amazon subscribe and save. Since it is pricey, I usually mix it with cheaper stuff especially on lighter days.

on the period panties...do you wear the same pair all day? That seems like it will smell and be wet and uncomfortable.

Or do they change underpants throughout the day? That doesn't seem practical when not at home all day.
