My mom used to sing it to me when I was a toddler. I'm now singing it to my newborn and forgot a lot of the lyrics, which go something like this:
Blast off, we're headed to outerspace Off we go in a roaring race Rockets are ready [Something] is steady We're off to see the moon... Spaceships [floating] in outerspace ... |
I think it's called "Rocketship Run" and there are a few versions available on iTunes--if it's the same song. |
I just searched and Google will lead you to it. |
Do tell. If it is what I found, it is one person's recollection that has somewhat different lyrics than I remember, and no clear source of the song. |
Thanks for looking. That song isn't the one I'm thinking of. |
Great space coaster theme? |
We’re going a trip in our favorite rocket ship
Zooming through the sky Little Einsteins! |
Blast off, we're headed for outerspace.
Off we go at a zipping pace. Our rockets are ready, So all hands be steady. We're off to visit the moon. Spaceship, spaceship Passing the stars in the sky. Gleaming brightly, See the (?) comets pass by. Blast off, we're headed... |
That was my thought, too. |
This was my first thought too. |
Mine as well! My kids loved that show |
We're going on a trip in our favorite rocket ship,

This is what I remember, from CA elementary school in the 60s
