If you paid attention to the issue of border security, you would learn that border security is a system, wherein a wall is just one component along with lights, roads, sensors, cameras, and patrols. The point of the wall is to slow down the illegals enough to that Border Patrol can respond and apprehend them. Without a wall impeding illegal entry, the border is too vast to effectively control.
