They have been released but you are basically trying to buy the hottest toy of the year, along with every 12-30 year old.

You’re fighting bots, so don’t hold your breath. Thousands have been bought by bots and resold for double the price. Some good news - the resell price is slowly dropping, which means not as many people are willing to pay double. Hopefully after some time has past and the demand isn’t there, actual buyers will have a chance.

OP-Ugh. So the only way to buy is if you physically purchase in a store, but they are sold out?

They aren’t selling in store yet. That’s the problem.

They aren’t selling in store yet. That’s the problem.

Although I think GameStop did in store today. That’s the only one I’ve heard of. I’m sure sold out at opening, of course.

Game stop did this morning. Friend spent the night on the sidewalk waiting and they had one console.

My friend works at Best Buy and their pre-order list has been full for some time. The wait might be beneficial though as they are being told by Sony that there are still lots of over heating issues and other bugs still exist. I would expect later manufacturing will be improved since they are still working kinks out.

I have a friend who has a PS4 and just got the virtual headset and games (Iron Man, Pistol Whipped). THAT is an amazing gaming experience. If your kid has a PS4 already go for the virtual headset and games before grabbing a shoddy release PS5.

A couple of options -

1) Buy directly from Sony. Make sure you have already registered and entered your cc information and billing/shipping address. They are releasing PS5's on their website every day.

2) Also get on the waiting list at Best Buy, Walmart, Target, etc. You are supposed to have "your store" when you get on the list. Do not register around here. Sign up far from city centers as you can. The wait lists there are not as long. The only downside is you will have to drive out to WV or whereever to actually pick the PS 5 up.

Gamestop had 2 PS5 in my hood. If you were #3 in line you’re out of luck. My son went to GS to wait in line and there were already others there so he came home

I took DS this morning. Got there at 6:20 and there was a line 50 deep. We got Starbucks and went home.

I’m having the same problem with the new Xbox Series X. Less than 1 minute all of the bots had cleared out Walmart’s restock. They are only giving 1-2 (or none) to brick and mortar stores—Best Buy, GameStop, Target, etc. For that reason, I didn’t even bother to try to go in person today.

The only saving grace is the kid that wants it is well-past believing in Santa so he’s well aware that he most likely won’t have one on xmas morning. He’s been falling the saga.
