What are your 12-year-old boys reading?

Anonymous
My son loves books. He especially loves to read what the other kids are reading. I want to get him a couple of books for Christmas. What is popular now?

He has already read the Wings of Fire series, as well as the Hunger Games and the Percy Jackson books.

Thanks!

It’s my 11-year old girl, but she adores brandon Sanderson. It’s high fantasy. Her favorite is the Stormlight archive but that’s really dense (too dense for me, each book is over 1000 pages). The mistborn series is my favorite. One of the main characters in that book is a girl but i think the series is even more popular among men and boys (not to be too gender essentialist but the plot is basically all war and fighting).

I second Keeper of the Lost Cities as a great current choice. My 12 year old also just finished the Ranger's Apprentice series and liked that.

Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy.
He's also taken an interest in canon Star Wars books, such as Star Wars Aftermath (relevent to the Mandalorian) and Asoka, which is from the Clone Wars and Mandalorian lines.

My son just started the Young Samurai series.

This is maybe a little younger but has he already read the Mr. Limencello series? And the Book Scavenger series?

A little older but my son also really liked the His Dark Materials series.

11 DS finished hunger games this year and I am looking for more ideas. He has on his shelf to read Boy in Striped pajamas and Lord of the Flies but hasn’t picked up either. Following this thread !
