And how it brings all the RWNJs to the yard?
For a county that voted 80% for Biden, and overwhelmingly rejected Robin Ficker's ballot question among other things, why are all the comments to Bethesda Beat articles chock full with Trumpers? Where do they even come from? I guess all the normal people hang out in the Washington Post comment section... and here? |
| I don't know anything about the Bethesda Beat or its comments section, but I can tell you from my experience here at DCUM that right-wingers are extremely active online. They come to DCUM from all over the US and they are far more active than our usual users. I see them routinely post 80 or more times in a single day. I used to think that they were younger people but have come to believe that they are mostly older folks. They are probably retired and spend their entire day posting online. I think it is their hobby. Also, I've found that a surprising number of them are women and that women are some of the most fanatic Trump supporters. |
| Interesting Jeff, thank you. It explains a lot! |
This is a relief to read. I'm glad those people aren't actually among us IRL. |
| Did you not see nearly half of the country voted for Trump, despite all evidence suggesting otherwise? |
Not locally, so seeing such regular comments on local message boards is surprising. |
|
It's the same 5-10 people posting comments on Bethesda Beat.
Including Robin Ficker, who does live among us IRL. |
Yeah it's not surprising that Ficker's amendment gets love in the Bethesda Beat comments, a lot of those comments are from the man himself. |
Did you not see that we’re talking about BETHESDA BEAT? |
That still leaves 10’s of thousands of us living among you “in real life.” Get over yourselves. Those who espouse conservative viewpoints are not some fringe group, not even right here in the good ol’ DMV. As much as you would like to believe you are surrounded solely by people who think just like you, there is actually quite a bit of diversity of thought around you. Try listening now and then rather than being so damn smug and condescending all the time. |
Guh, this is a perfect example of why we don't want you living among us. Hint: it has nothing to do with your conservative viewpoints. It's your offensive personality. |
Pot, meet kettle. |
+1. Truly. The conservative PP said nothing to demonstrate an “ offensive personality “. |
+1000. I'm sick of people who condemn other people for being different from them. |
Trump lost, and not because of his conservative viewpoints. He lost because of his deeply offensive personality. That you see nothing wrong with the posts above explains why you were also not bothered by him, but most people in the entire world found him offensive. Glad that's finally over. |
