| Anyone heard if DCPS is going to be the ones reaching out about CARE slots, or will it be the schools? And will those notifications start today? I think it is highly unlikely my family will get offered slots, but it seems like the only option my kids may have for anything in person this year. |
| It was supposed to happen today - but who knows. Chaos. |
| Considering the entire plan won’t happen I wouldn’t trust a cares invite even if I received one |
| For selfish reasons, I want to know ASAP. If my kids are “going back” in any form this month, I need to make some decisions about seeing grandparents before our risk profile jumps way up. |
| We have not heard anything and have a good chance of being offered a seat (sibling has in person with teacher slot). |
Same here. But they have to make it through all the iep and ell kids first. I'm ok with not getting a cares slot - not sure I would take it since it is still DL, which is the problem. Recess would be nice |
| Central office is telling principals to stop calling parents about seats. No indication as to why or what this means. I work in central office. |
| Any news? |
Just to confirm— Principals have been told to stop informing about CARES seats or any seat (to include in-person)? |
All seats |
Oh god. So this is off and we are DL all year. My special ed kid really needed the in-person spot
|
I’m going to be devastated. My DS with asd will be ok but I’m going to have to go part-time at work. His buddy is not going to be ok. |
I heard that in-person was more likely to go forward than CARES, though possibly delayed. But this was a few days back and obviously things are changing and morphing. |
| Ugh. I am praying in person goes back. Central telling principals to stop making calls is bad sign though.... |
| It’s a terrible plan that wasn’t ready for prime time. They need to plan better and start in January. |
