Is it inherently bad to audibly fart in the presence of your spouse?

We have been married about 14 years, and I really would like to be able to pass gas while sitting in the same room. I have been told to either hold it until later, or if I can't, to get up and go in another room.

Ha ha ha . . . we fart in front of each other ALL THE TIME. Maybe we are just disgusting, but it isn't a big deal when we are at home. I have had to kick my hubby out of bed when he kept ripping of stinkers, but usually it is infrequent enough that it just isn't a big deal.

The real issue for me is when he audibly farts in public. He does this at parties, dinner dates, social events, etc. He isn't trying to be funny or anything, he just doesn't see the point in holding it. I used to be mortified and I've yelled at him for years, but I've come to terms with the fact that he is the one that should be embarrassed, not me.

Hmm. We've been married 12 years. When it happens, it happens, but it is to be avoided if at all possible.

We do not hold back, been together 11 years and we started letting it rip about 6 months into the relationship. He has even cleaned me up when I've crapped all over myself due to a stomach virus and me being too weak to clean myself up. I say the couple that farts together stays together!

We've been married for 6 mo and we've been farting in front of each other for the past 3 years LOL
I can't imagine being with a person and not be comfortable enough to fart in front of him/her!!!

No, see, I'm plenty comfortable farting in front of DH. He's the one that insists that I leave the room.

Count us as farters, too!
I mean, I try to limit it, but sometimes you gotta let it out.

We have contests. I would not get married to someone that I could not fart in front of for whatever reason.

If it happens- it happens- bit overall I do try some social etiquette- I guess I fart sometimes at night and that's when he can hear it if he is awake.

DH watched me give birth - 2x now and soon 3x - farting in front of him is nothing.

We don't fart. We pass gas openly and freely.

I tried blowing bubbles but fart is all that comes out so I guess he'll have to get used to it.

Open farters over here. DH does try to blame the toddler for his sometimes. (I even pee with the door open! I draw the line at #2, however.)

I just have to be careful of any wet farts. Those are the worst.

And some meds. will give me gas with oily discharge - doubly worst.

What if it really stinks when you farters fart near your spouse? Does your spouse just shrug and go, oh honey I don't mind that temporary stench 'cause I love you so much? Do they not notice? Do they suck it up because you're so hot?

I'm trying to understand, honestly, why my DH is so repulsed by the smell but other spouses aren't.
