Being a surrendered/ empowered wife

Self awarenes, emotional maturity and patience, as well as an ability to listen deeply and have empathy are skills that I think serve both roles well. Just respecting your children and spouse as individual people, separate from you and your agenda I think, puts you well on your way to being very good. Being able to laugh at yourself and find your own happiness within yourself, apart from your family may well make you excellent.

Treating myself like a human being with their own feelings, needs, and wants....rather than just a wife/mom.

I was a mess when I was trying to put everyone else ahead of me. Depressed and anxious all the time. Plus no one appreciated it.

When I made myself a priority and started drawing boundaries, I became much happier. I'm a way better mom now and I'm setting a good example for my kids. I don't want my daughters or sons to grow up with the belief that men come first and women need to comply.

NP, thank you for this. I am working on setting boundaries. It is hard after several years and a conscious effort not to feel guilty after setting those boundaries.

F@ck the first two.

High earner, outsource the cleaning/cooking, and more time for sex.

My husband!! He’s always been a neat freak, likes to clean. He also is cooking for the first time in our marriage (22 years married) most nights.

I am certainly getting used to having him WAH with me.
