He is a long-known serial cheater! His wife is from an old Irish family and has an ancestral 20,000-sq-ft estate with literal castle that they keep up. I always assumed this was one of those aristocratic marriages where they put up a good front for the sake of the estate and bloodline but have 400 affairs.

+1 He has been off/on with his wife for literally 30 years, had a kid with someone else, had kids with his wife before they were married, and has always been known as a womanizer. The marriage is for the castle and the aristocratic (Wife may be the castle-family descendant but West is an Eton grad) charade.

I also love him as an actor, find him attractive in spite of myself, and know he would cheat on me left and right. One of the actors in the Wire, I forget which one, gave an interview once where he mentioned there was basically a line of women waiting their turn outside Dominic's trailer at all times.
