Yale or Stanford?

What do recent alums or parents have to say about yale v Stanford. Dc will have a shot at either ( a long shot, I know). We have spent a lot of time in Oslo alto with relatives but have never even been to new haven .

Sorry for not proof reading on teeny iPhone. That should be Palo Alto!

Palo Alto is hands down a nicer place to live.

I wouldn’t put too much stock into thinking about it until you get an acceptance letter.

Apply to both then decide.
Anonymous
Yes but which for the ED app?
Anonymous
Aren’t they both SCEA not ED?
Anonymous
Yes but that is essentially the same as ED when you are applying

Got into both. Went to Yale. Life went downhill from there.

But for the fact that CA is going to burn into a huge lump of charcoal then earthquake its way into being a really fancy coral reef, Stanford in a landslide.

What field/major?

You need to go see New Haven. Not that it’s so awful — it’s not — but it’s not so great either, and it’s nothing like Palo Alto. Hard to come up with a good comparison city, but I wouldn’t apply early without visiting.

Same, but went to Stanford. Loved every minute. Stanford is such a fun college experience.

Stanford looks like the world's largest Taco Bell.

re major: dc is right now well-rounded and successful in STEM as well as writing and a talented artist. Also nationally ranked in a small sport. Not at all sure what major will be

DS got into both and went to Stanford. He got a lot more time outdoors, was more physical, and said while people worked as hard as they could, they had no problem collaborating and helping each other.
