Can Congress object to Trump nominating ACB in his diminished capacity?

He has COVID-19 and it is known to affect cognition. Trump only announced his INTENT to nominate Amy Coney Barrett. He hasn't actually put forth her nomination.

Anyone think it will be stalled out now?

He intended to nominate her weeks ago. She is a well qualified candidate. The Republican Senate will confirm her period. No way it stops it. Also no rules saying you can’t make decisions while having Covid.

Lastly he tested negative prior to the Debate on Tuesday.

He announced ACB on Saturday, to 3 days prior to that test.

He chose ACB the Saturday, 3 days before the debate. So he was negative on Daturday when he chose her. He must have caught it on Wednesday or Thursday.

So when he chose Her, he was negative. So it does not matter if he is positive now. The Senate has the role now to confirm her as he has done his job to pick her. Now it’s up to the senate. Even if Trump dies tomorrow, the Senate can still confirm her.

ACB was a finalist before Kavanaugh. She was SSU ally his pick even before RBG died. She is well qualified even if you don’t agree with her conservatism.

As a Cardiologist, we know Covid can cause inflammation to on in the heart, lungs. In a symptomatic person who is hospitalized, it may make a difference in his judgement, but In an asymptomatic person, there has been no research that supports what you are saying.

So if you disqualify Trump to decide, Pence who just tested Negative can nominate her....


I have had many patients who have had Covid and isolate at home, they are still making important decisions.

And as I repeated,

He made the choice Saturday and 3 days later at the da eye he tested negative! So no way he was positive on Saturday. I he nominee her on Tuesday, you may have a point.


Don’t cling to this as there is no hope to convince the senate not to confirm her...

No we should ram this nomination through so Notorious ACB can overturn Roe and the Bill of rights, and Medicare, and personally light three wildfires in California.
