| How much did you spend including drugs, treatment, etc for 3 rounds of IVF with ICSI? What was the total all in cost? |
I did 3 rounds over the course of 2 years or so. I probably spent under $900. I was very fortunate that almost everything was covered under insurance. |
|
I selected insurance based on the IVF coverage and did all 3 cycles in one calendar year. $3,000 for the annual deductible, then about another $3,000 for meds. Amazingly I had two friends that had a full cycle worth of meds left over (I guess shady grove urges you to buy meds for the next cycle before the end of the year for insurance purposes - I didn’t go to Shady Grove or have the same insurance so that’s second hand info). Plus probably another few hundred in various copays and a few extra meds, I’d say $6-7,000.
Out of pocket it would have been around $20,000 per cycle including meds. |
| If you’re out of pocket, aggressively shop around for med prices and ask about substitutes (follistim instead of gonal-f, etc.). One pharmacy may charge $200 and another $60 for the same med. That can really add up. |
| Close to $20,000 for one cycle not including meds (which were around $3k just for the stimulation). |
| We had to pay out of pocket. We did 2 rounds. North of 50K. I was a low responder to meds. |
| PP who had insurance here. I just want to acknowledge how unfair it is that some of us have coverage and others don’t. It’s unconscionable. |
| I think we were all-in at nearly 45k over a number of years cycling, saving, then cycling again. No insurance coverage at that time. |
|
$15,000 with insurance.
That didn’t work and it was all out of pocket from there on. So we ended up spending over $150,000 by the time everything was done. |
| We did SGF’s shared risk program for our first child. With meds, PGS testing, ICSI, etc. it was about $30,000. It took 3 FETs to have our son. Had two embryos leftover so did an FET for our second, but had insurance coverage this time. Cost about $2,500 after everything (& the first transfer worked). |
| We did shared risk at $30k and then paid ~$3500 for meds - some of which were not covered by insurance. |
| $20,000 for x3 IUIs and x2 IVFs with x3 transfers. All OOP with no insurance coverage. |
That’s very cheap! Was this CNY or overseas? |
Overseas. I am a DoD contractor in Germany. |
| We've spent about 50k on two IVF cycles (1st: 1 embryo to transfer which didn't stick, 2nd: no normal embryos). In DC, Have FED BCBS which doesnt cover any treatments. Does any fed insurance cover ivf? |
