| Sending an outfit to my nephew and not sure what’s in. He’s 8. Thanks! |
| Depends on geographic location and how cool they are. |
| No show or athletic / knee length. Nothing in between. |
Yep. I have two boys. Before summer they both wore under armour crew socks. Now, the 10 year old wants no show socks. The 7 year old wants them to his knees. |
|
This is what mine wear. Don’t buy socks from target or something.

Not oP, but why no target? How about old navy or gap? |
| Winter crew or ankle. For summer, any are fine. It personal preference. We usually do ankle. |
| He is your nephew! Ask the mother, we would not know his preference.... |
| Depends on which ones feel best to them -- all about comfort. |
Because the question is what is cool and trendy. No show or knee length brand name. You don’t have to like it but it is what it is. |
| Crew. I've never seen boys wearing anything else. |
I’ve tried the inexpensive Target, multipack Hanes, and similar socks and they are always problematic somehow — too thick, get holes quickly, any dirt leaves a permanent stain, etc. It does work out better to pay a little more for socks with athletic shape. I always buy ankle because that’s what I like. My 9 year old has yet to express a preference on height. |
| My 9 yo DS only wears crew socks. |
|
No show, ankle, or crew. No knee socks.
I have a sporty 9-yr-old boy. He chooses socks based on the ankle height of the sneakers he’s wearing, so has a variety. |
| Mine do not wear matching socks. Crew socks, black, with a stripe down the back - "and the stripes should never match", they tell me. I think it's because they're lazy and don't want to match socks, but maybe it is a trend I don't know about. |
