Both 25 and 26 classes have more than 1 freshman starters but they are also top players on Capital Blue. Visi, PVI and SSSA also had 25/26 freshman starters. I think on these competitive HS teams with depth you have to be top players on top programs to earn a spot, but it also depends on how many upper class players. I don’t think there are any guarantees though. |
You will. |
Previous Visi Parent poster: let’s hope so. Hope local girls (Pride, Stars, NL, VA Metro) all applied. |
No one wants to go to Visi. |
Great! Other Visi parent here. Are these VA players or MD players? |
SJC had six D1 commits (five Capital Blues, one Hero’s Green) and didn’t make the WCAC finals. One is now playing for the #1 team in the country, one is a top 100 D1 freshman, and three are bound for top 30 D1 programs. Given that level of talent, leadership has to be considered in determining why SJC didn’t achieve better success last year. |
Coach said usually 4-5. |
Visi will be fine this year but will drop off a little as newer classes have been relatively weak other than a couple solid players. Have to think the location in the heart of G-Town is a detractor for many (unless you live nearby). Stone Ridge or GC seem to be the schools to select if you had to pick a top one looking towards the future. |
SJC underachieved last year. I truly believe PVI was not as talented as SJC last year but was better coached, which is why they won in the semifinal and SJC didn't make WCAC finals. The 2 2023 midfielders (NW and Harvard) will be really tough replacements as both were excellent players on both ends of the field. Once the 24s are gone there is no depth in the program at all. They have 3 strong 27s (1 is injured), 1 strong 26, and 1 decent 25. But hey, any 28s that want to start on varsity right away, I guess sure go to SJC. Schools with solid JVs - SR, GC, SSSAS, Visi - are the ones that stay strong for many years because of program depth. |
The Visi "recruiting" process was abysmal. They could not have done worse if they tried. It would be crazy if Visi somehow ends up with the strongest 2028 recruiting class (other than Battlefield, of course). |
What is Battlefield? VA public? |
Yes. Not good. Hopefully they can regroup but I think the 2028 class may be lost. |
Yes, Battlefield is a Public School in Prince William County. They play in a terrible district and Region, but have started to play more Fairfax teams. They have been solid for the past several years now. If you read a few tags above, they will have about 7-10 girls that play travel coming in the 2028 class. The question will still be, can they win the big game |
I am not really getting that vibe. I think Visi may sneak out a strong class. |
Can you elaborate on that? |
