| Please recommend your favorites. I just bought one from l’Occitane but would like more ideas. |
| Sephora? I remember seeing them last year |
| It is only the first day of fall and you are already buying advent calendars - wow! I came in to say L’Occitane but you already bought one (they have two versions this year btw. Lego calendars are fun too - if they like Lego (and you are never too old for it) |
I think I’m going to go heavy on advent calendars and light on presents. Less pressure, more days of fun. I just ordered the Funko Pop Marvel one! |
| Thinking of getting the Uncommon Goods tea advent calendar for my 13yo tea-loving DD. |
We did this one last year - SO MUCH FUN!!! |
| What a great idea. Love it! And something to look forward to is this year may be finally comes to an end |
^^Will this back fire? I can totally see my kid being disappointed on Christmas morning when she realizes she only has a few presents to open under the tree b/c the daily Advent gifts were supposed to be her cumulative Christmas present. My teen is emotional and dramatic anyway, that I can see her not liking this deal especially if she didn't realize it until Christmas morning. Did you tell your kid before-hand that in lieu of more presents on Christmas morning you got the last 24 days of daily mini presents ? Just be upfront so no disappointment later on? |
| Is there something similar for Hanukkah? |
I just ordered one! Uncommon goods seems to sellout of stuff (especially the kits like make your own mochi) so I got mine early. |
| Pre-ordered the one from The Body Shop (the mid-ranged priced one). Lots of creams and lip balm stuff, which DD will like. |
All the good ones sell out early. OP you can google this question—tons of articles discussing advent calendars. |
| Target often has 12 Days of Christmas boxes with socks or bath bombs. Technically that would be after Christmas, but could be a fun way to extend things. |
Good to know! I'll probably go ahead and get it, then. We always ordered the Lego ones early, but didn't realize something like this would be as bad. |
Usually the older the kids get, the “stuff” they get on Christmas. Truly, if people are showering their kids with lots of stuff, it’s better to scale back. We don’t need most of the stuff. |
