For breakfast and lunch I just make sure certain foods are in stock such as yogurt, bread, oatmeal, cereal, eggs, peanut butter, tortillas, salad greens, etc...

I don’t cook three full family meals a day. Easy things for breakfast and lunch. Adults make their own. I take care of young kids.

I cook dinner nightly and make enough for leftovers. Lunch is either leftovers or things like salads, sandwiches, soup, etc. that can be prepared quickly. Breakfast is yogurt or fruit or quick eggs. In addition to dinner, I will make an extra something, like banana bread that could be a breakfast alternative, or a quiche that can be eaten for breakfast or lunch. I do one of those "extras" usually once a week.

Breakfast is cold cereal, oatmeal, peanut butter toast, yogurt, etc. No short-order cooking during the week. Weekends we make waffles or omelets or whatever.

Lunch is sandwiches, leftovers, or something quick like grilled cheese and tomato soup.

Dinner is the meal I really plan for; other stuff I just buy the usual staples.
