Virginia lieutenant governor enters race for governor

Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax formally kicked off his campaign for governor Saturday, a year after facing two allegations of sexual assault.

And the only Republican candidate who has declared so far is on the record as saying that it's your own fault if you get raped. What a mess.

It would be great if Spanberger entered the race. I think she would win. When was the last time Virginia had a woman governor?

I'm not voting for him. The two women who are running for the Democrats' nomination both look solid.

Never had one- there once was a Lt Gov who was a woman.

Virginia has never had a woman governor. But with Spanberger’s background, she belongs in Washington, not Richmond. Jennifer Carroll Foy and Jennifer McClellan are both running, though.

It's sickening to compare the coverage the Kavanaugh claim got versus this. Christine Ford couldn't even tell you the year or month of the alleged assault. She waited 30 years and an appointment to come forward?

Fairfax's accusers (plural) have provided explicit detail and Fairfax admits to the encounters, but barely a peep from the MSM

I’m a Democrat. I believe the women. I’m not voting for Fairfax in the primary. There are at least two other good candidates. I can’t see him winning the primary. If he does, I’ll vote R unless Rs run someone like Ken Cuccinili.

I think the Dems have a pretty solid roster of candidates, but I am not down with Fairfax. I believe he did RAPE those women, which just makes me so sad because I met him a while ago (pre-revelations) and really liked him. Why must men be like this?
