| What are the number is states with 8/1 or 8/15 school cutoff dates? |
Going 7/1 is better than going 9/1 plus 60 because it captures kids born July 1 and 2. And kids misaligned can play a year up. |
They might go with 8-1 to eliminate the summer trapped players but sounded like they were leaning towards 9-1. Will know which of the 2 they pick in about 50 short days. |
It's not confirmed but their latest podcast seemed to be leaning towards 9/1 for ECNL. |
| Agree that 8/1 cutoff is preferred. If not, then 9/1 to 7/31 with the flex August that was previously discussed. |
| Email christian@theecnl.com a quick note if you agree that 8/1, or 9/1 to 7/31 with flex August, or SY + 60/62, is better than 9/1. Please and thank you! |
| It was 8/1 before it went to BY right? Was anyone clamoring for 9/1 back then? Seemed to be a good date for a school year approach since it captures most, if not all states. |
here is a list from 2020: https://nces.ed.gov/programs/statereform/tab1_3-2020.asp |
You realize for 8th graders and 7th graders who's teams they MAY play on (they could be doing other things), it's one 2-3 month season. |
9/1 or it goes 8/1 if they get pushed by states like Indiana, Hawaii and Missouri. Could always split the baby and go 8/15. Would be worth it for the shock value. |
No players in DMV will be trapped by a 9/1 soccer cutoff, given that no schools in DMV use an earlier cutoff. The August DMV players who are trapped should blame their parents for holding them back when they were supposed to start school. |
Interesting. Thanks. |
Pathetic. |
lol - it would be funny if they just dropped a bomb and did something completely random. We would get to 1000 in no time! |
I didn't write this, but why is that pathetic? |
