Expectant and Postpartum Moms
| Help! Everytime I walk into Motherhood Maternity I want to cry. Where do you recommend shopping for stylish maternity clothes. I already feel gross, am hoping I can at least dress cute! |
| Apple Seed Maternity in Old Town. |
| Actually, Target has some really cute dresses in the maternity section! |
| I lived in Target clothes when I was pregnant. So cute and so cheap. Not the greatest quality, but will take you through one pregnancy easily. |
| Honestly.... Banana Republic and JCrew have some cute baby doll style tops and loose sweaters that can work for maternity tops. |
|
I felt the same way...what I ended up doing was wearing maternity pants (I had no choice, haha) and a lot of regular tops. I found that many of my own things still worked (due to material or cut). I did buy a few shirts from Target that were just a size larger than usual. I also caved and bought two or three maternity shirts but all of them were on the clearance rack at Macy's. The maternity shirts I did buy did not look like it and in fact, I have worn one of them several times since giving birth and will probably continue to do so (it is a plain black sleeveless shirt and is gathered on the sides). |

Old Navy.com has great stuff - and I don't usually shop there. Ann Taylor Loft and GAP online also has a good selection.
There is also a great maternity consignment shop in Bethesda called Wiggleroom that carries all sorts of brands. I bought a ton of stuff there for $65 (everything was 50% off last week!). |
| Pea in the Pod Collection -- different from Pea in the Pod - sold at Pentagon City and Tyson's I think. Also nice stuff online at Neimans. |
| I second the Appleseed idea. I bought a few key pieces from there and would not have survived without them. My DD is 15 weeks old now and I still wear them. |
| Try the H&M downtown. They have a small maternity selection but it's pretty cute usually. I also like Gap online and Old Navy for basics if you don't want to spend a lot. And Target rocks--online selection is best. |
| I like Appleseed too, but they are expensive. |
| Also check out www.bumpbargains.com. They feature one maternity item per day at a deep discount. My friend in Denver started the site and I've had some luck there for sure. |

Definitely check out Appleseed. Yes, it's a little more expensive than some places, but you end up wearing the stuff so many times that it's worth it. I think they have a great selection of cute stuff - esp. pants. I really hated all the pants that I got everywhere else -- full panel is the way to go.
Also check out the Gap's website for regular weekend stuff. Nordstrom has some nice stuff online too. |

Kohl's has a few cute maternity items at a very reasonable price. You may have to order online though.
I wore by regular clothes as long as possible. I used the BellaBand with my pants. |
