I don’t think Pitt is much of a reach with those stats. What about temple or Drexel?

Pitt is a reach with a 3.9? UMD is off the table?

Any SLAC’s to consider with those stats?

Need more info. Are only large publics desired, and are they in budget? Are privates (offering need-based aid) an option? Potential major? Rigor of transcript? What is she looking for??

With virtually all top-100 privates test-optional, a 3.9 with a rigorous transcript puts anything on the table for possible additions to the reach category. Plenty of mid-size privates to consider, if they might be affordable. Plenty of matches outside the top 50 even submitting the score.

For UMD, 25th-75th percentiles for enrolled students is 1290-1460 per Common Data Set; 1350 would fit just fine. (The admission website lists the 25th-75th percentiles for admitted students as 1330-1470, rather misleading considering the enrolled numbers.) Wouldn't major play a role for UMD?

She wants umd. But with her SAT score it seems a reach. Know a few kids who got rejected with 1400 SAT score but lower gpa

Yes would consider privates . About 9 AP classes

Does she know what she wants to study or would she apply undecided? Can you afford full pay or do you need aid? What size(s) and geographic preferences?? Nowhere is off the table. (Even if UMD is a reach, still encourage her to apply - seems more like a low reach/high match)
