Would she consider doing some SAT prep and retaking them? Is the 3.9 weighted? |
Geographically.. VA, MD, PA would be preferable. Will be full pay. Major is probably undecided but something in science maybe public health |
She is prepping but not sure if she will improve or of she will be able to retake the SAT given the coronavirus shutdown |
3.9 unweighted |
More low reaches/high matches: Villanova, Lehigh, Lafayette, U Richmond, Bucknell, American Safety: Loyola Maryland |
I know someone studying public health at Muhlenberg. |
Isn’t UMD rest optional? I don’t submit the SAT scores! |
Lehigh and Lafayette seem difficult to get into. Acceptance rate is 22-29% |
DD WL then rejected from Lafayette this past spring with 3.9 UW and 1310 sat (probably inflated but nothing we can do now ![]() |
Go test optional! UMD isn’t requiring scores. You are welcome. |
Yes, they can be. That's what puts them in the low reach/high match category |
NP. 1350 is probably just under the 50th percentile. I would probably submit, though applying test-optional is also a reasonable way to go for OP. |
+1 Most schools don't require scores this year - take advantage of that and skip the test. |
People out here acting like 1350 is some poor score. Come on people, pull yourselves together. From Maryland's own stats: the middle 50% of SAT scores ranged from 1330 to 1470 Submit that 1350. In combination with the 3.9 unweighted, this is a great candidate. |
I think a private counselor would tell you to submit anything over a 1300. This is a weird year, but, I too think a 1350 is a great score. Even if she doesn't get a straight admit, I would think it puts her in freshman connection range. |
