NYU quarantine food

Can we talk about this is because it makes me laugh. I would feel bad for NYU if it didn’t cost 70k to go there and if they didn’t say they would provide 3 meals a day during quarantine.

I feel like I need to use their meal service to lose weight. The NYU diet!

I’ve seen some of the tiktoks I’d be so annoyed if I was a parent footing the bill for that

In a city with some of the best food in the country! They should have contracted with doordash and just give students a daily budget to order delivery. That would give students something to think about during quarantine too--ooh, what should I order for lunch? There are hundreds of reasonably priced places to eat within a 5 block radius! That said, colleges are having to do so, so, so many things on the fly with so much risk and uncertainty.

I was totally rolling my eyes at this headline. Then I read the article. It’s ridiculous. I’d be upset. Can the kids order delivery? Most kids at NYU are rich. I’d just roll w it and tell my kid to order groceries/takeout.

Yes they can order door dash etc

I don’t think families are being billed for anything while in quarantine.

As a parent of a sophomore that lost housing last week at a college that decided to only let freshmen on campus last minute, I am so sick of students who are actually at college complaining about their subpar experience, I am going to scream. I am paying 30k for my kid to spend the semester in her bedroom. I don’t want to hear it.

You should be grateful your kid is safe. Get your priorities straight!

This comment was not addressed to OP. I agree that the NYU food situation is outrageous.

It was addressed to the poster who said no one who gets to go to campus should complain about the conditions, because at least they are not home like her child.

OP here - I dot have kids there, just watching it all unfold. I don’t know the specifics like if they can order food or not. I just want the recipes. 😂

They can order food to be delivered. NYU is giving them a $100 gift card for that purpose. Anything else is at their expense.

The food people are complaining about is free.

This is the cost of being on campus in NYC. Most colleges there aren’t allowing it at all.

You realize you can still bail, right?

Anyone that would go to NYU is a sucker. Just desserts.
