How Often Does your Elementary School Child have Phys. Ed.?

Just wondering what the different public school systems (or private) do with this. Once weekly? Twice? Daily?

My son goes to an all boys school and has it every day. Our neighbors go to the local public school and have it once a week. I think most publics have it once a week like their other special classes are also one a week (art, music, library, computers).

DC at private school in VA ... PE is three times a week and recess is once (sometimes twice) a day all through elementary grades. Not sure about middle school.

Public school in Colorado every other day in Kindergarten, not sure if older grades do it more often.

Private school in MD: PE and recess 4 times a week. (One day per week is shorter than the others.)

Public School in Arlington -- recess every day and sometimes twice, PE 2x per week.

Public school in Fairfax County -- recess every day, PE four times a week.

Private in VA - K - 2x a week and outside to play at least twice a day if not more.

MoCo public. 2x week for 1st grade, 1x week for 3rd and up.

DC is a second grader in FCPS: PE three times a week. Recess everyday (except maybe Monday because it's a short day).

DC private elementary school. PE three times a week. Recess twice per day.

Son is at a boys' school. PE every day, and it's great for my active guy.

DCPS elementary. One a week, which is far too much already for my little girl who doesn't understand why her teacher makes such a big deal over chasing after a ball.
