Acceptable time in the morning to permit kids to play in yard

We recently moved to a new house and have a great backyard. What’s an acceptable time to let my kids play in the yard without disturbing neighbors? I’ve been waiting until at least 9 AM during the week, and 9:30 or 10 AM on weekends. That’s totally reasonable, right? They’re not excessively loud, but they are 1.5 and 3, and toddlers make noise. The houses are not right on top of each other, but close enough that I’m sure sounds carry.

10am every day

Check your local noise ordnance. I think if people can start yard work at, say, 8 am your kids can definitely play outside at that time.

Yes! My neighbor and I often meet at 9 am in our backyard for play time. That’s totally acceptable!

9 amid perfectly fine. I think even earlier is okay.

We’re talking about the sounds of children playing in their own yard. Don’t overthink this. You can use your own property.

I was going to say 7, lol, in this heat the earlier the better. Maybe at that time I’d let them play with sand or a water table, not be running around like banshees.

I was going to say 7am too, as soon as the sun is up! I insist they are dressed first, but we often eat breakfast outside on summer mornings.

8:30 or 9

Lawn crews are in my neighborhood by 7:30 am. Your kids couldn’t be a tenth as loud so I’d say 7:30 is totally fine.

Agree with 7 am in this weather! Our backyard is too hot for my 1 and 3 year old by 11 or 1130.

My 3YO is out by 8am every morning riding his bike and scooter. We live in an area where there are lots of people out walking so he says good morning to everyone and we’ve met a lot of neighbors this way!
