This is pretty trivial, but here it is --
We potty trained with flimsy character underwear from target as a reward system and it was fine but after getting gifted Gymoboree bikini/brief style underwear we switched to that and everyone was happy for several years. When they became unavailable, we went back to Target cheapies and some Hanna Andersson but we don't like either. The Target ones are thin and baggy and DD complains they give her a wedgie and camel toe (conditions she described to me in minute detail because she is a talker but doesn't know those terms). The Hanna ones are okay but are very thick and come up a little high (are often visible around her waist band) and they now are getting too small, so we need replacements. Did anyone love Gymboree underwear as much as us and can recommend a replacement? DD is 8. Thanks! |

We have an 8yo and have been doing Hanna Andersson for the past few years and really like those. I hadn't thought of the waistband issue, but probably because her shirts are typically long enough that her underwear aren't visible.
Can you buy longer shirts, or are they visible when she cartwheels, etc.? If the latter, we haven't really been bothered by that. |
| The generic Nordstrom or Gap underwear are a favorite w/ DD. |
| We also did Gymboree for years. Carter’s was a good replacement. |
| Carter’s has nice underwear. We’ve been using that or Gymboree for years. |
| The buyer cadidi Dinos underwear on Amazon is great. |
| Carters are the best. DDs have tried Hannah and Boden but like Carters more |
| Another vote for carters! I like Hanna's too. |
| Hanna Andersson bikinis rather than the briefs. The briefs are huge. |
| I got my recently potty trained daughter Primary underwear. They're nice and soft. |
Yes these! The bikini ones don't come up nearly as high and have a larger leg opening. |
| Gap is good. My daughter likes the boy shorts because they don't t give her a wedgie. I'm not sure if they still carry them. I bought some DKNY ones off of Amazon and they seem to be better quality than Target. |
| lucky and me on amazon. fits really well, my kid has skinny legs. |
OP here -- ah ha, maybe this was our Hanna problem! I also thought the leg openings were tight on the ones we have. I think I'm going to order a couple pairs from several of the above suggestions. I've got a Hanna gift card to burn, so that's a start. Glad to know there are lots of options that will all probably work and then we'll know our favorite to re-order in a couple years (hopefully, they will still be in business). Thanks, all! |
| We love the Hanna ones - they have different styles so which ones do you have? |
