Children spread covid more effectively than adults

Was expecting the previous studies in the link and got new content. Surprised and thumbs up!

The poor teachers and school workers if children are forced back to school. And the parents!!

And the grandparents who miss the kids so much already!

If this is true, this is really bad news for us.

I don’t see the humor if my kids are forced back to school with no DL options. Or if my mom is forced back to teaching or lose her job and pension.

I understand and read the article, but I do not understand how both the article’s takeaway and the 5 months of data we’ve seen about this can be true. Most countries have kept schools open and have found that schools and childcare settings do NOT lead to outbreaks. Iceland has reported no child to adult transmission. So, how can this new evidence be reconciled with the facts on the ground?

I’ve been saying this since March. I fully believe we’ve saved an extra 100,000 lives with schools closed.

Every country in the world, including Iceland, closed schools.

And the ones that reopened - are closing them again and again.

This is really awful news! I desperately want my kids back in school but not if it means killing their teachers or the lovely older women who work in the school. Or DH and me!

Read the actual studies pointed to by the article, rather than the article itself. One was really badly done in that it lumped children aged 5-17 together and reporting the findings based on that. And the other has not been peer reviewed.

I read them. I can’t take all the theories, rationalizations, defenses and equivocations anymore.

I’m keeping my kids home this year. It will be so hard but I can’t keep debating this. Better super safe than sorry.

And what’s your criticism of this study by the American Medical Association which says the same thing?
