What is the truth?

Can someone please explain to me why MoCo is considering reversing its expansion, I assume back to Stage 1, due to increases in COVID? NBC 4 just reported that MoCo numbers are rising and they need to pull back.

Here are the numbers that seem to be steady with a <1% rise for 23 days. I thought that seemed to be a good milestone, but what am I missing? Are we going back to phase 1?

Here is the moco dashboard -

https://montgomerycountymd.gov/covid19/data/

Page 13 shows we are improving on most metrics except for cases, which even then are far lower than before. Hospitalizations, ICUs are down - death - and any death is unfortunate - is averaging 1 a day. If you scroll down, they indicate deaths at nursing homes - if you track that over a few days, you will note that most of the new deaths still are at nursing homes.

Testing - is way up. About 2 weeks ago, it was hard to get free testing. The county council expanded testing to demographics / neighborhoods that may not have easy access to testing - so that also improved.

I do not understand any major reversals in Moco. There is a significant increase in Baltimore County and City. - numbers, hospitalizations, etc. There are outbreaks in the eastern shore / OC. How this drives Moco - I can't tell you.

Moco has been taking a lot of actions against kids sports activities - not sure that is the risk area . . . They are not closing indoor dining, bars, etc.

In Hogan's press conference yesterday - he said that Moco numbers are way down and doing well, due to their actions . . . .

OP here,

Thanks All for the info - here is the nbc4 report that mentioned the roll back. It seemed to indicate we are definitely not going into phase 3 and looks like phase 2 is in jeopardy.

I am just thoroughly confused on any rollback given the numbers.

Not going into phase 3 makes sense but saying the numbers in Moco are increasing is disturbing. We have heard of several new policies in Moco secretly done in past week and seemingly reversals. One still had the Moco graphic saying it was great to do but fine print of a new policy said it was now an exception.

Thanks to Marc Elrich and his reasonable policies not giving into the people on DCUM whining about pools and playgrounds and hair salons.

Elrich needs to roll things back all the way to the original lockdown.

Give the people what they voted for.
