Is cost an issue? If so, UMD or maybe UF. If not, vandy or unc. |
Vandy or unc-ch |
Vandy. Congrats! That was a very hard admit from our HS this year |
Vanderbilt. UNC--CH has mostly in-state students: they are not on par with the typical Vanderbilt or UNC OOS peer. |
Vanderbilt for sure. Blair School of Music is outstanding. |
I think the ideal choice here would be Notre Dame followed by an MA at LSE. LSE will have the best politics/econ/ME studies program. But he'd be missing out on the American college experience if that's important. And the networking that goes with it - it's hard to beat the Notre Dame network. And it's a solid place to go to school. I don't think Georgetown is worth financial stress. Their financial aid is abysmal. And it won't open more doors than Notre Dame does. Would ignore the other schools mentioned. |
+1. 👍👍. |
Vandy if you can afford it. UMD if not |
Curious why you say this? Vanderbilt is the highest ranked out of all of these schools. |
In what way? Pomona is ranked higher than Georgetown |
Davidson is the best school on the list, rankings wise. So I'd go w/ that. I'd remove Georgetown from the list because it's too $$$ when you have other options that are just as good/better and cheaper. I'd remove Denison, Bing, and WI from the list since you have better options. My list would be: 1) Davidson 2) notre dame 3) LSE |

Davidson is better “rankings wise” than ND, Georgetown and LSE???
|
It is ranked higher by USNWR. |
Not on the minds of most East Coasters. I’ve met just one Pomona alum in my entire life, they must mostly stay on the west coast. |
They aren’t ranked in the same category. Outside of the T3 or so LACs, none can compete reputation wise with the National universities in the T30. |
