It's a shame Whittle's attitude towards paying vendors and staff doesn't share the same transparency and authenticity that he seems to demand from the design of his campuses....

Did DC staff ever collect the full amount of what was owed to them or is that check still in the mail?

As of late August, they hadn't, according to the Wash Biz Journal.....WBJ hasn't reported on it since then, as far as I know. So I hope that means the pay finally did come through.....Wouldn't bet on it, though.

I can't speak for every employee, but I personally have not received anything close to the full amount owed. I have myself to blame for not jumping ship when the first payroll was missed, though. I count it as a very expensive lesson.

Same here. Still owed multiple missed payrolls I expect I'll never see.

Isn't this school permanently gone? Or is it restructuring?

No, Chris Whittle is not affiliated with Maret in any way. You can’t penalize people that got scammed by that man.

Do we assume this is for back pay?

The incoming Maret HoS and his wife were based on everything I read equally guilty as Chris himself if not worse since he rarely lied to the family first hand while they allegedly did on the daily. They have behaved in a morally reprehensible way and to this day have “no comment” Wake up & smell the fraud and self interest

Of note to Whittle watchers
https://therealdeal.com/new-york/tristate/2023/07/13/east-hampton-estate-asking-95m-sells-after-two-auction-flops/

Hamptons Mansion sells but he's still in debt about $50M -$100M not counting the local Turner Construction mess still not closed-look up in NY Courts the Pure East, Golden Eagle, DLJ lawsuits to find  $80M in additional loans and debt and mortgages --proceeds of which he personally stowed away-most likely offshore, while claiming to be a victim of Covid closures, and while imploring naive parents and faculty to pony up hard earned dollars to save a lost cause. Every single contractor has sued, writs are attached all over, the cash is offshore. And the Whittle cat gets a 10th life while any other low-rent criminal and fraudster that did the same would be in jail now.

Hey guys….remember the days when we checked this forum everyday to hear the latest tragic gossip from Whittle? Then we’d argue and take out our frustration on anonymous posters? I miss us…..
