The only folks I know who “hate” Langley are parents who pulled their kids out and sent them to privates. Otherwise people understand it’s the richest high school on NoVa, with both the advantages and the disadvantages that entails. And many people who could afford to live in the Langley district choose to live elsewhere in NoVa. |
We moved to the Langley pyramid. Not everyone is rich. It isn’t like Beverly Hills 90210. Families are pretty normal here. The rich kids mostly go to private. |
Yes, of course. There are some dual Feds in the Langley district, and some families only live in $900K houses, not $3M mansions. But when PP calls Langley the "best" school in the state, they are referring to metrics strongly correlated with Langley's having both the most expensive housing and the lowest percentages of FARMS and URM students in Arlington/Fairfax/Alexandria. As for Beverly Hills, while the housing is more expensive, the median household incomes are about half of those in McLean and less than half of those in Great Falls. |
Really? Why? Each graduating year has a group of class parents who coordinate class-specific activities. They’re not “room parents.”

The only people I know who hate Langley are the usual resentful DCUM trolls. |
