And why did she not ask for more? If she was turned down, she could be doing an "I'm so vindicated" lap. But they wouldn't turn her down, because it's a FORMALITY that has now been waived. (Not a sock pupper; adding on!) |
According to what I heard on WTOP on Jan. 6th, she had put in a request for the National Guard to be called out and the Pentagon said no. Hours later, Pence approved the request. |
As we have repeatedly told you, she called out the National Guard to meet the expected needs of the areas under her control. Her judgement proved accurate. I am not sure why you repeated ignore this point and insist on criticizing her for not taking actions to secure areas over which she did not have authority. Why are you not criticizing the mayor of Anchorage, Alaska who has the same amount of authority over Capitol Hill as Bowser? |
She requested what she needed. It is not her role to second guess the Federal police forces. I don't know why you refuse to accept this fact. |
My understanding is that while DC officials were on the call, the official request came from Capitol authorities. |
The mob could easily have run in a different direction. She should have had foresight (that's what we pay her and her staff for--planning) and planned for any event. But she was being PC. And when the Guard were needed, guess what? Not there. |
I didn't know that. I just remember hearing on the radio while I was running errands that a request had been made for the National Guard and the pentagon had refused. I thought, here we go, the civil war has begun. |
We don't pay her to protect the Capitol building, sorry. And we don't call out the full national guard for every 1A event in DC. Again, it's obvious you don't live here and you are trying to deflect from the egregious mistakes that WERE made that day. |
Wow. So PC. And I was born here, Were you? |
What do you mean, PC? Yes, I am DC born and raised. And, more importantly, I understand how emergency planning works. |
Clearly being born here has not improved your ability to understand the Mayor's responsibilities. It has nothing to do with political correctness, but rather law. |
And adding on (NOT sock puppeting) , there is possible nothing more annoying that the above. Do you really think people who don't have an interest in the DMV are posting on "Metro DC Local Politics"? Do you want to give me the Mambo/Mumbo sauce authenticity test? And who do you think YOU are? So annoying. |
Oh, dis'. There are many analyses that voice that the under-preparation for 1/6 was a nervous overreaction to the optics of the summer call up of the Guard by the President. If you disagree that is fine, but please do not resort to insulting my ability to 'understand'. We simply disagree. That happens sometimes. |
You misinterpreted, sorry for any confusion. The PP obviously does not live here, because any DC resident understands about the multiple police services, areas of authority, and various 1A police scenarios. It's part of the daily life here. The PP continues to make baseless and ridiculous assertions about what the Mayor should have done differently to anticipate the gross negligence by Capitol police. |
I actually think you understand perfectly. I think that you know that any failure to prepare lies squarely with those charged with protecting the Capital. That includes the Capitol Police Chief and the two Sergeants at Arms. It does not include Bowser. What I don't understand is why you are fighting to the death to blame Mayor Bowser for something that you know is not her fault. |
