The Home Edit (Get Organized with THE) on Netflix

At the start of the pandemic the two of them were traveling a lot (probably finishing up filming the series) but were extremely frightened of catching covid on a plane. They caused a scene during boarding on one flight and were asked to deboard.

Between that and the constant marketing of “stuff” on IG, I’m kind of turned off but did enjoy the Marie Kondo series, so might end up watching at some point.

I, much like you, followed them on IG. Found their stories to be really funny often. But I couldn’t make it 10 minutes into the Netflix show.

However do they ever keep "back stock" of unused bins and some other organizing materials? or is that just another way they make more money off the client is that they can bill them for all the stuff they buy whether they use it or not

Manufactured drama. I’m sure they know exactly what they need and have it ready to go for the show. Maybe it shows the old drama they went through before having a full product line with the container store.

Started watching this show. It makes us anxious just seeing the mess in these closets. We just fast forward to the finished product tour lol

This show just seems like a really long Container Store infomercial.

This is something my personality should enjoy, but I just can’t watch it. I don’t like the women for some reason

Hate it. HATE IT.

I love organizing because it's a form of problem solving. How do you pare down what you have so that it fits in your home? How do you organize it so it's easy to find and use? How to make the most of a small space? How do you use visual markers like color-coordinating ant sorting to help your brain make sense of it? I think it's really interesting and there is a lot of psychology involved. Even though I'm not a strict minimalist, I enjoyed Marie Kondo's show because it got into that stuff.

This show if vapid and stupid and awful. Moving things around in a massive walk-in closet is technically "organizing" but not in a way that is remotely compelling.

Anyway, I put it on because I thought it would be a soothing watch during my lunch break after an absolute marathon of work/childcare today. I was wrong.

Just go on IG and find posts about her mom, who apparently is as equally as neurotic as her (something about how they can't get make-up on her super fancy towels or she'll have a fit..first world problems). Clea has no self-awareness that 99% of the world doesn't have the means to organize all their crap into the colors of the rainbow while sipping champagne. Still, I like following them on IG and find their organization tips inspirational.

Clea's husband is a photographer/videographer for celebrities. They run in big circles.

Clea also comes from a very wealthy family. Her mother from the family that started Sara Lee.

Either way, she has worked hard to create THE and get to where she is today.

So, I reorganized my kids' stuff using their method and it was back to a hot mess in about three days. It looks nice in the moment, but it's totally impractical! Agh!

I hate that they do celebrity homes. Of course with a huge space and a staff to maintain organizing systems it’s easy to organize.

Clea is an heiress.

I wanted to like this, but it was pretty bad. Is there going to be another season of Marie kondo? That's much more my speed.

I think this is the biggest draw back to de-boxing stuff. You lose track of expiration dates and cooking times unless you have another system to keep track of it. I remember second guessing how long I should cook the rotini, penne or rice?

I deboxed when I lived in an apartment with cockroaches and mice. I'd cut out the panel with the cooking instructions and stick it in the plastic container (obvs this works better with clear containers where you can take the entire top off)

I just started watching the first few episodes and I think Clea is obnoxious. I don't know how people work with her.

Clea seems MEAN!! I don't like her. She scares me. Joanna seems way nicer but very bland.
I lost interest after the first episode, but I do love the IG account for pure aesthetics.
