So how did the Bethesda / FCV friendlies go this past weekend? There was a tweet thanking Bethesda for friendlies...so...

Was the Bethesda 05 team (noted above as the "good" team b/c of MRM and coaching) good enough to take down FCV's 05s?
How did the 04's & 03's fair against Bethesda?

Did FCV U18/u19 really destroy Bethesda's team, 9-0.?

This confirms that Bethesda is a wreck. Outside of the 05 team, which is basically a MRM Rush team with a half dozen or more Bethesda ECNL girls, Bethesda is not an elite club. Mclean, FCV, MUFC and Pipeline are all stronger. Bethesda will get weaker if Pipeline goes to ECNL -- All the Bmore, AACo and HoCo players who could not make MUFC will no longer make the drive to Bethesda if they can make the Pipeline team.

Games were played across the whole club including ECNL/DA/CCL/NPL teams.
Bethesda U19 ECNL lost 8:0
Bethesda U17 (03s) ECNL lost 2:0
Bethesda U16 (04s) ECNL tied 1:1
Bethesda U15 (05s) ECNL lost 3:0
Bethesda U14 (06s) ECNL tied 1:1
Bethesda U13 (07s) ECNL lost 2:1
Bethesda U17 NON ECNL lost 3:2
Bethesda U16 NON ECNL lost 3:1
Bethesda U15 NON ECNL lost 3:0

Answer: A coach.

It is silly for coaches to post friendly results, and they are feeding parents who are classic sheep - who feel they have made a good choice when teams for which their daughter may play does well against opponents their child will never play. It does not reflect well on any of them.

ranking clubs overall is meaningless. Does your kid play in 10 different age groups?

Once you get to U13 and U14, rankings matter much less as families shift to thinking about being positioned for college recruiting. The platform you play in is what becomes most important. If you are in DA (or ECNL), every game is vs the best competition. Every winter, spring and summer showcase beats the best tournaments for exposure.
