| I voted for #2 also. I don't really care about inauguration day but I think it should be an excused absence if parents want to take their children to see it. I think that was the policy back when I was a kid. My dad took me once in middle school and it was memorable. |

| Voted for option 1. It's consistent with the law and as a parent, I make plans with the operating assumption that the school board will follow the law. |
I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or you are just ignorant. |
The will follow the new law. Maybe you missed that. "As a result of legislative action in last spring’s Maryland General Assembly, school districts in Maryland have the authority again to start school before Labor Day and end the school year after June 15th." |

Can't let our kids academic needs be ignored because Ocean City needs a boost. No one is going in the polluted oceans with jellyfish, sharks and deadly infectious bacteria... |
Huh? |
| I would be ok with school starting in the begining of August, but have lots of long weekends built in the school year. Infact having 4 day weeks would be really great, as long as schools also allow for daycare facility for the 5th day for working parents. |
| Starting in begining of August but having a week off after each quarter will be great. |

Voted for Option 3.
Will make my family vote too. |
