That's Kelly McGillis!
|
How old is he? |
48 Too old to fly jets for the military. |
The Air Force? Seriously? It's the Navy, sweetie. And from the trailer, you can pretty quickly see that the premise of the movie IS that Maverick should have been promoted by now or moved on. That's a fairly common scenario - getting stuck at O-6 and never making flag officer (Admiral). Getting passed over a few times generally means you need to move on. That's the conversation that Maverick is having with his commanding officer in the opening scene of the trailer. |
| They don't let 60 year old men fly jets. |
|
The Navy says the plot is (barely) plausible:

| 100% seeing this. The trailer gave me chills. Yes, Tom Cruise is nuts. I don’t care. Top Gun was a huge part of my life in middle school. My friend and I probably snuck in to see it 10 times that summer of 86. |
Oh man. |
| Kelly McGillis has been through an awful trauma, and worked hard to put her life back together. Leave her alone. |
| Two-and-a-half years since the first trailer. When are they releasing this movie, fer cryin' out loud? |
I am inordinately happy about this. Someone needs to do a SNL skit about all the middle-aged moms mobbing the movie theaters for this. |
| No Kelly McGillis or Meg Ryan. Those characters won’t be returning. Only the male characters. |
The planes are the real stars of the movie. |
Release date is May 27th! |
| I'm worried this movie will just ruin my memories of the first one. Tom cruise is weirdly preserved. Who is this man's plastic surgeon? That is where I should be spending my $. |
