Yes! Normally I hate seeing men with dyed hair, but I saw clips of him promoting the movie and he looked good. At some point it will go too far, but whatever he is doing is working, for now.

What do we think of the Lady Gaga song? I like it and it makes me more excited to see the movie. But also Tom Cruise / Scientology are trash so I feel conflicted she chose to do the movie. I love Gaga but this surprised me a bit.

Nope. I cannot do it. TC and his cult have just gone too far. I stopped watching any Harvey Weinstein productions --although now the company's been sold, maybe old movies are ok. Also won't watch any Woody Allen anything. Just can't separate these horrible men from their work.

Honestly, I thought he looked pretty darn good in trailer. Less plastic than he had been.

Anyone find it interesting that they brought back all of the old men but not Kelly McGillis? I guess they couldn't cast her as Cruise's wife

I just watched the video of the song this morning. I like it, too. Also loved the all the additional movie clips that aren't in the trailer. So excited to see this movie!

I would have so loved to see Kelly McGillis as his wife.

Really, it's good they were able to hire Connelly. I think they were anticipating there would be some push back about the women who were originally in 1 not being in 2 and made sure not to follow the usual Tom Cruise setup where he is with a co star who is at minimum 15 years younger than him.

I was just googling Kelly McGillis, prompted by this thread. She's five years older than Tom. He's 59, and she's 64.

There are a couple of pap shots that are unflattering. Aside from those, she looks her age but is still beautiful. She has that great bone structure and striking blue eyes.

I would have loved to see her not with Tom but maybe high up in a civilian defense department position. But this would require Hollywood to be creative and write an actual decent role. Hollywood clearly employs some second rate writer who lack imagination.

Caught Top Gun on TV tonight, got sucked into it and can’t wait to see TG2!

He’s just buying some time to get fit.

He is recovering from a brutal bout of throat cancer and can barely speak intelligibly. I think it’s great he’s coming back but yeah Kelly McGillis should be back too.

Kelly McGillis hardly acts anymore. She left Hollywood to get sober, raised her kids in FL, divorced her husband, came out as a lesbian and briefly was with a woman, was a hermit for a while and was photographed in NC as gray and very overweight, etc. She has a chronic health condition and lives in Hendersonville, NC where she sometimes teaches acting. She has done a handful of acting gigs in the last decade.

She has suffered tragedy; raped by two men in nyc in the early 80s, divorce, her yacht burned down, and fought off a female burglar in NC. Plus, addiction and a chronic illness.

^^^
This isn’t an actress you go out of your way to cast in Top Gun 2.

Plus, I don’t think a mid-60s female civilian would be relevant or believable as a military security expert. Having said that, Cruise isn’t believable as a military pilot either. Waaaaaaay too old. They should have made this movie 20 years ago.

I was in high school when Top Gun came out & I remember having the hugest celebrity crush on Tom Cruise.

Me along w/the rest of the world! 🫶🏽

However his views on treating depression, etc. have made me detest him so much that I will no longer pay a red cent to see ANY movie 🍿 that he is appearing in.
