I agree. I think SMU has a beautiful campus, but they've done so much "infill" development in the green space, that it's not as pretty as it used to be. |
| One more vote for Richmond. |
Agree on Indiana U:
UChicago and Notre Dame are also very, very nice. |
|
I agree about Scripps. They have a rose garden, for heavens sake.
Evergreen State College doesn't have pretty buildings, but it's plunked down in the middle of a gorgeous forest. St John's Santa Fe. |
Ohhh yeah, if you go foreign, yes Oxford/Cambridge take the cake. There's a reason so many US colleges model themselves on those campuses. |
| Pepperdine-game over |
Setting, yes. Buildings....meh |

I've seen a bunch. Although it may not be tops in any one category (architecture, setting, environs, landscaping), I'd have to go with Princeton as the all-around best.

Lots of beautiful campuses and many rankings out there, but this seems to be a good list. https://www.timeshighereducation.com/student/best-universities/10-most-beautiful-universities-us#survey-answer

| The main quad at Trinity in Hartford, CT, is one of the best examples of college Gothic architecture in the U.S. It's beautiful |
| We thought Wake Forest and Bucknell were particularly lovely campuses when visiting with our daughter. She wanted more urban! |
This is also true of UC Santa Cruz. They are going to infill the gorgeous meadow. |
How about the whole SUNY system? Sorry SUNY grads, I couldn't resist. |
