This is stupid and crazy right?

I am sitting here giggling about what the wedding will sound like. My cat screams and hisses at the vet, and I'm imagining how that will sound with so many cats.

There will be several people who lose their grip on the cat the are holding when it starts to squirm and scratch. So there will be multiple loose cats running around as well.

It will be fabulous!
I so wish I knew you, OP, and could see video footage after it happens.

Omg. Just burst out laughing in the middle of the sidewalk, just picture it!

I'm not sure how to embed images but here is a solution for any cats that don't want to be held.

I'm wondering what venue would allow this?

This needs to be recorded and posted to YouTube.

Monetize the crazy, OP.

Is this like a rent a rescue where she can rent 20 cats for the wedding and then try and get guests to adopt them?

This makes no sense. People don't just have a dozen cats lying around who they want people to adopt.

People who hoard cats do.

cat I had for 20 years twice attacked me: once she thought a stuffed wolf cub I bought for my DS was real, another time she saw a neighbor's cat through the screen door and I was in the way.

both times I ended up with deep scratches (puncture type) that required antibiotics.

this could actually be dangerous

No kidding. My (previously stray) cat seriously slashed me once when I made the mistake of trying to close the blinds while she was shrieking at a cat in front of the house.

I had to hunt down this thread because of the dog event in the other family.

So what happened with the cat wedding?

I'm allergic to cats, so I would unfortunately have to decline.

Otherwise I would go, provided I can alter the dress to fit, and do not return home with an animal unless I choose to.

The bride is going overboard, naturally, but her goal IS more worthy than the usual "this is MY day" bridezilla wedding...

My husband got a minor scratch from a rescue kitten and ended up with Cat Scratch Disease. The docs couldn't believe it. Spent lots of days in the hospital.

Aside from the practical issues around the animals —they hate being held that long, they hate each other, they need food + water, etc— the bride has some SERIOUS boundary issues. One bridesmaid told her “no” and her response was “Perhaps it was a ‘maybe and she’ll come around.” Then the OP said also said “no” regarding adoption or fostering, and the bride again couldn’t accept that answer. I wouldn’t participate in a wedding of anyone who pushes others around like that for any reason. It’s disrespectful and indicative of serious issues, cat lady or not.

OP, you absolutely must submit this to Carolyn Hax's Wedding Hootenanny chat. It's usually in August.

Bumping because this is so fricking hilarious that I want to be able to find it later tonight and read this thread to my spouse.

Please, don’t bash my idol!
