I love a lot of the ones already listed from the 1980s. I also loved Loved loved The Jewel in the Crown miniseries

Ditto - though James Clavell wrote the first two

Shogun was such a cultural phenomena when it was on - similar to Roots which was a little before my time.

But, the book Winds of War and War and Remembrance were much better then then the mini-series..

To be fair, Big Little Lies was meant to be a mini series. They decided to make another go at it due to the compelling fanfare.

Roots for me.

I’ve read the book, thanks. I still find the BR mini to be tedious.

IMHO, books are always better than the movie adaptations

I was obsessed with V as a kid. We watched it again in college and it is hysterically awful.
