Beyonce's lyrics are disgusting

I guess you are going to claim that you aren't racist either? Isn't is odd that only WOC are accused of faking their pregnancies or deceiving the public about their age?? Honestly, this entire thread reeks of keeping Beyonce in a designated lane.

However, I do love squeeze box.
How you can compare these ambiguous tame lyrics from ?1976 to the blatant nastiness......

Plus, you get an Inauguration gig, practice, practice, sing with all your heart...if you're going to lip sync, step down and let an artist confident in their live abilities do the job....

It's all about your standards. Some people would consider explicit lyrics about sex combined with neglect of the kids in favor of sex to be "disgusting."

If you’re talking about squeezebox, the lyrics aren’t explicit. That’s why the song can be played on mainstream radio stations in earshot of general audiences. It’s all about the double entendre, which Beyoncé wouldn’t recognize if it poked her in the face repeatedly- in and out and in and out.

Umm, it literally says mama has a squeezebox on her chest.

A lot of kids are watching, listening, and taking in raunchy lyrics and gestures, wherever they're found. And they're found all over in the music industry because entertainers in general (certainly not only Beyonce but including her for sure) are all about making $$$$$.

A squeezebox is an accordion. You only get the “dirty” if you understand the double entendre. It has been played on mainstream radio stations for generations precisely because it doesn’t have explicit lyrics.

What about cocaine? Clapton's song is literally an ode to how great cocaine is.

The phrase "sex, drugs, and rock n roll" didn't start with Beyoncé. It started with Elvis and his hips getting girls all titillated. You can say things are worse now, but that's only because society's standards have changed.

You don't have to be that "with it" to understand what great balls of fire mean ...

Why does any of this matter? Did you think that OP was saying that Beyoncé is the first singer with naughty lyrics?

I'm saying OP doesn't have much ground to stand on in calling Beyoncé out specifically.

A lot of kids are watching, listening, and taking in raunchy lyrics and gestures, wherever they're found. And they're found all over in the music industry because entertainers in general (certainly not only Beyonce but including her for sure) are all about making $$$$$.

Handle your own household and prohibit your own kids from listening to her if that’s your preference but well intentioned or not you don’t get to tell other people how to raise their kids and what music they’re allowed to appreciate. It’s called tolerance and the respect of others rights (the artist and the fans) you should try those concepts sometime it’s very helpful towards society as a whole as opposed to censorship and cultural prohibition.

She's trash, and she's one of many. I am disgusted by those whom society labels as "role models."

She's marketing herself towards the younger crowd in an attempt to keep herself relevant. Middle aged women are not her target audience, so if they are scandalized by her lyrics...so what. In fact, the more scandalized the better.

Eh, she dumped some of her fans in favor of a more energized, youthful fan base. Rejection stings.

To be fair I alerted the OP of an option perhaps unknown to them.

Couldn't agree more and for those who don't like what Beyoncé is doing, oh well, there are plenty others who like what Beyoncé is doing so haters just have to deal with it.
