Are you entitled to see a doctor if you're at the ER?

Op here. I had no idea and I don't have a lot of pain. They wanted to do an ultrasound but I declined. I am confused why I had a chest x-ray earlier. The nurse asked if the technician confirmed that I wasn't pregnant. She said ok that means she already saw the negative results. I am trying not to worry. What's been done has been done.

The chest x-ray is probably to rule out TB.

Hopefully they have answers for you in the AM. If you can’t fall asleep, don’t be afraid to ask for something. Whatever is wrong, sleep/rest is always part of the recovery process.

Sorry, meant to say TB and pneumonia.

Troll. Nobody in the ER would say “a little pregnant”

Op here. I am in Miami. The Latin people have a different way of talking. They are taking another test.

I lived in Miami for six years. Nope.

I was supportive of OP until recently. Why would you decline the ultrasound? OP is either a troll or dumb.

Lots of people regfuse an ultrasound in the first few weeks pp. It's not necessary and they do it vaginally. No thanks.

The test was probably faint so they ordered blood work pp. I am Croatian we tend to use "a little" a lot. You lived in Miami and you know how everyone speaks? Bs.

Op here. I got the insurance card today which is effective as of last week. The doctor thinks we may have Typhoid fever but nothing is certain yet. I am still waiting for the tests results.

OP, I hope they figure it out soon so you can get treatment, but I am confused. Are you pregnant or not?

Op here. I called travel clinic's, urgent care and the health department. Everyone said to go to the ER. A doctor did show up a few minutes after I posted this. The doctor said they're admitting me to stay tonight. I hope I don't have anything serious. I have had a fever, chills, sweating and headaches for 6 days now. I hope it's only the flu but it's better to be safe. I am in a new city without a regular doctor. It hasn't been easy to figure care out.

Something doesn't add up.

You called a travel clinic. They told you to go to the ER. So instead, you called an urgent care facility. They told you to go to the ER. So instead of going, you called the health department? I'm sensing a pattern that you don't take instructions well.

You've had a fever for 6 days with chills, headache and sweating and you think it's life threatening because what?

You don't think a nurse can help diagnose what you have because why?

OP, you're obviously a youngster and you have a fever. A regular ol fever. I hate to break it to you but it's not life threatening and you will live to see another day.

Go eat some ice cream, calm down and you'll be better in a few days.

You sound like a jerk. Where did you get your medical degree from?

Good luck! Keep us updated. I have a history of UTI's where I don't have symptoms until they are really bad - hopefully that's was causing the worst of your symptoms.

OMG lady, you don't have typhoid, and you aren't "a little pregnant". Stop.

How did PPs know that OP’s child was also sick? Did I miss that in the two threads?

Why would you refuse an ultrasound? I don’t understand.

It's very possible to have typhoid after traveling to South Asia moron.

this is all starting to sound like a troll post. a pregnant woman with typhoid wouldn't be spending all her time posting here. she'd be with an MFM and an infectious disease specialist.

Op here. Have you ever been to the hospital? Is the doctor with you 247? There's lots of free time. I can't sleep because I have to take care of my 3 year old and the IVs make it uncomfortable. I did see an infectious disease specialist this morning. He's currently mointoring my test results. I am so tired of people calling troll. Some of you must have pretty miserable lives if you need to be nasty to a sick person.
