More like...

Plop.

The Hearst pool won't be much bigger than a porcelain bowl.

It will be the same size as the Jelleff pool and many of the other pools in DC.

I think the Hearst pool will become known as the 'bathtub' given its placement against the steep slopes. Better that than the toilet bowl!

Yeah it's just like they are cramming it into the bottom of a box canyon.

Seriously - it could be the explanation for why no one has ever used the tennis courts there.

Maybe the city should instead install climbing walls?

If the tennis courts are in a box canyon, the pool will be even deeper in "Canyon de Cheh."

I don't think the canyon is the reason the tennis courts are seldom used. I think the sport of tennis is simply waning.

Really? Someone should tell DC DPR and Cora Masters Barry. Tennis seems to be a DPR priority, including DC's investment in "crown jewel tennis facilities."

People have told DPR, they just don't listen. DPR has a total mismatch between the facilities they have and what people want. DPR has hundreds of tennis courts, most of them sit vacant most of the time. Same thing with baseball fields, most of DPR's fields are for baseball even though other sports are far more popular.

"Canyon de Cheh."

Not just a box canyon, a veritable sinkhole.

Give it a rest. People here tried to make the pool the cornerstone of the 2018 campaign and Cheh won with 75% of the vote.

The people have spoken.

I'm going to lock this thread since the election is over and there is a huge thread about the pool that those interested in the topic can join.
