Loved the movie. Way better than Kissing Booth.

That was awful. The character is completely awkward has no idea what it’s like to act on a date b/c she hasn’t gone on one then has unprotected sex on the first date. Male writers suck.

This sounds like a terrible movie, but can we please not post spoilers for movies which are not the subject of a thread? At least not without warning?

My bad. Think of the upside—I saved you from watching a really terrible movie.

Clearly you didn't watch the movie. If you did, you didn't pay attention. If you're going to provide spoilers, at least do it right.

Aw, did I offend your delicate sensibilities?

Is this “doing it right”

Fast forward 45 minutes in to the kissing booth:

after where both leads spend the day drinking beer on the on the beach...Lunkhead guy who looks like a peodo next to girl lead b/c he looks about 10 years older—any rate after doing beer bong he drives them on his motorcycle to a secluded spot.

Lunkhead: Ah, you know, we don’t have to...
Girl responds by kissing him and taking off his shirt.

(Thank you me too generation writers who learned nothing—verbal consent, mention of birth control—at least show us the condom.)

Voiceover to sunrise and two leads laying naked next to each other under Hollywood sign

Girl: You know when the time is right. This was our time. Noah and his stupid sexy smirk got the best of me. And I was happy about it. But now what am I going to do? This is all your fault kissing booth...

Cue to me...BARF. She also wasn’t thinking about access to the morning after pill only the quandary of dating her best friend’s brother.

So I think I did it right and saved people from watching a perfectly wretched movie. You’re welcome.

I watched this last night and was blown away by its earnest sweetness. It is an instant classic. I really love how modern teen movies actually feature characters that act like real teens and who don't look perfect. Its so nice to see normal kids on tv being just that...kids.

Pete is Such a dreamboat.

I'm a 42 yo mom

I've watched:

Set it Up, cute and enjoyed

The Kissing booth, with my 9th grader, we both cringed.

To All the Boys, on my own, this was cute

13 Reasons Why (both seasons), on my own, lots to unpack

I was a 16 candles, Can't Buy Me Love, Say Anything, Some Kind of Wonderful, OG 90210 baby. These series definitely pull at us Gen Xers.

I don't miss HS, my 20s, etc. But now I am in my 40s and there is nostalgia for being young and first loves, first jobs, first anythings.

This is PP and I am about to go scout some houses for my parents to move closer to us, so yeah these rom coms (not counting 13 reasons) are mindless escapes

Fellow Gen Xer here. Can’t forget Breakfast Club.

I agree on both Kissing Booth and All the Boys. I haven’t watched 13 Reasons Why yet.

43 yo Mom and I freaking love teen rom-coms. Glad Netflix is bringing back this genre.

Very good movie. Will happily watch again!

I watched it last night. Really good movie. I wish there were more movies like this my teens could watch, and not constant nastiness and swearing.

I finished the book this afternoon and watched the movie tonight. The book is good and much better than the movie, although the book has a really annoying ending and the movie at least improves on it. The movie was too corny and not well-acted. Blah!

The books are always better than movies, more detail and ability to get inside of a characters head that you can only convey with voiceovers in movies. The book ending was kind of 'eh', but it leads directly into the sequel with no break, so it's less of an ending and more of a hold point.
