I'm sorry for your loss. A chemical is still a miscarriage, just a very early one. |
I was one whole month late on my period. Only had one positive test result on home test. Went to the ob she Did the exam on me and told me I was about 8 weeks pregnant. I was shocked. Told everyone in my family along with my husband's we were excited !!!the next day came and they called me in for blood work. From there on they told me I was having a chemical pregnancy. I have yet to start my period. I'm almost 3 months over due for a period and they are starting me on medication to help start ny period. Very sad. |
To the lady with the five cps... Have you had your thyroid checked? |
I had a Frozen Embryo transfer on 5/11/13 and got a positive pregnancy test followed by a blood test which confirmed pregnancy but the hcg level was low (70). Followed up with another blood test a few days later and it dropped down to 3. They said more than likely a chemical pregnancy, they said it was about 4 weeks. I am unsure what happens now, there is no bleeding at all, if chemical do you bleed? When will I get my period? Also could there still be a pregnancy, I feel that I should have scan? I am not due for a follow up with consultant until end of this week. I'm just left here not knowing what's going on and what to expect.
Another thing on my mid also is that I had a natural pregnancy previously and got positive test result with a HPT and while in hospital one day they done 2 HPT pregnancy tests and both came out negative. When we went back home that evening I done another test and it was positive. Followed this up with a 6 week scan and they saw sac with baby. Unfortunately I gave birth early and my baby lived for one day. I'm just wondering despite the low HCG reading I had this week and confirmation of chemical pregnancy, could I still be pregnant? Can someone please give me a bit of advice? Thank you. |
I've had several chemical pregnancies and they all had low and/or dropping betas at some point. If they monitor your progesterone that will give you an idea of when your period will come. In my experience none of these pregnancies progressed normally. I'm sorry OP.
This is an old thread so you might get more responses if you start a new one. |
3 is a negative beta. I'm sorry. Falling hcg levels are a very accurate sign that it is not a viable pregnancy. I started bleeding 3-5 days of getting a negative home test with each of my chemicals. I'm the OP of this thread. I had several losses and 2 successful pregnancies since then. As far as the hospital test, they have higher hcg threshold blood tests and less sensitive urine tests. First Response tests are more sensitive than hospital tests. |
I know this is an old post, but hopefully someone sees this lol so last month I went to the we for chest pain turns out I was pregnant. I had tested positive on blood and urine. They told me to go to my normal doctor the following Monday to confirm. I took two HPTs that weekend both positive. It was a holiday so I went on Tuesday ... My doctors test were negative!! I got home took another HPT and it was negative as well, then I started bleeding ![]() |
You could get pregnant the cycle following a chemical pregnancy. I did and went to term (after 4 miscarriages). I'm sorry for your loss. |
Hi all, I think that this is an old post, but I'm on the same boat now. I noticed that some of you mentioned that you did not ovulate the cycle after your CP. I'm on CD28 and no ovulation. I'd like to know if any of you on this thread can share with me how long it was for your cycle to come back to normal (ovulation, etc) and how long did it take you to get pregnant with viable pregnancy?
Thank you very much! Jill |
I was told at 5wks that i had a c/p. A week later iI ovulated, and now I'm late by 8 days. I had no bleeding after the c/p and the doctor did not do an exam of any sort and just went off of the blood work. Has anyone else had this happen and if so what was the outcome? |
hi girls, i know this is an old post but maybe someone can help me. over thanksgiving weekend i had a chemical pregnancy. I had a positive test Nov 17 then i started bleeding on Nov 24. I did not have my period at all during December and it is now January 11. I am scared to take a test because I don't want to go through what I went through before. I rather test later, maybe middle of this month (just in case) than early like I did last time. I have sore breasts but that is it. Is it possible to not have a period the cycle after a chemical? Should I expect my period soon? Any help would be appreciated. |
sometimes after a chemical m/c that your cycles are a bit off. i had one cycle i was sure was a pregnancy but just turned out to be a super long cycle (even though i had neg home tests i went to the dr to get tested b/c i was so convinced!) your hormones are re-adjusting, so its normal to have a few 'off cycles.' that said, a friend of mine did get pregnant the cycle after an early miscarriage, so it is possible. i'm sorry, i know its very frustrating, as the pregnancy symptoms mimic the symptoms of pms. i was never able to hold off on early testing, as they recommend we should. what does help me is making sure i have plans and hobbies that are not centered around getting pregnant, so i don't have your mind on it all the time, and so any disappointment won't be too bitter. best wishes. |
22:41 I'm sorry about your loss. I've had several chemicals and my next period always came on time (maybe a few days late) except the time I got pregnant the next cycle. It is possible! |
Hi ladies, Im 27 and have PCOS. I was diagnosed in Jan '15.
I went to my first dr appt yesterday after Having my pregnancy confirmed through PPH 2.15.16. I took two home pregnancy test both positive and waiting 20 days after expected menstrual. Having wht I thought was implantation bleeding 1.23.16. At my dr appt yesterday 2.22.16 I was told Tht I had a Chemical pregnancy. And because my body knew it couldn't carry, my body absorbed the pregnancy. I was told Tht my pregnancy symptoms will subside in 2wks. Most women don't realize they were even pregnant and when they do and the test is positive with FAINT lines, these are signs to consider I was told. I definitely still feel nauseous and I'm having period like cramping in mi pelvic area. Back pain but no bleeding. I hope Tht if I plan a pregnancy this won't keep happening. Women with PCOS already have great difficulty conceiving. Gud luck and strong baby dust to everyone. ![]() |
