Who goes camping with a 2-year-old and a 4-year-old?

We just took our 2 and 4 yos tent camping over Memorial Day weekend. We all had a really fabulous time.

My husband and kids started camping at that age. Sometimes in the backyard, sometimes at a camp site. We also hikes with infant and toddlers too. They loved it, and it’s a great way to burn off toddler energy and constant desire to be outside.

OP, people who are really into camping try to get their kids into it early

We let our 4 yr old put bread on a stick and hold it over coals to make toast. He did it for 3 days straight! Probably ate a whole loaf of bread.

The wife lost her lawsuit agains the state of California and the Parks Service to hold them accountable for her husband's death three years ago.

https://abc7.com/malibu-creek-state-park-tristan-beaudette/10550686/

In his ruling, Epstein wrote that Wu and her children alleged that in the part of the case against the county the plaintiffs alleged there was a "special relationship" formed with the Sheriff's Department because they knew there was a "potential assailant" and therefore anyone in and around Malibu Park was a potential victim.

However, Beaudette never inquired of the Sheriff's Department if he was in danger and told that he was not, or that he was specifically at risk from being shot'' by the gunman.

As a member of the general public, Beaudette was not owed a duty of care based on the failure to warn,'' the judge wrote.

What special food does a 2 year old need?

I'm going to blow your mind OP. I took my 3 month old and 4 year old camping, and it was fun! I started camping with my older one when he was about 2 years old and he loved it so much that he hated to miss the year after his little sibling was born. So we went. But I did have my spouse with me.

I would have loved to! Unfortunately my xH hated camping, and I’m a small female and worry about going alone.

Kids do so well in nature. We can spend a whole day out in a state/national park, it’s so much fun. Kids generally aren’t difficult to handle or fussy since they have the freedoms to run around and play. No special foods needed, either. Don’t forget, humans survived millions of years in nature without chicken nuggets and French fries.

Yup, going camping with a 2 year old was a revelation to me. With camping, he could do anything he wanted, run, jump, throw rocks, roll around in the dirt, and it was all fine. I don't love camping, but I think it's great for kids. We went with another family with a similar aged kid, and the 2 two year olds would just sit in the dirt and roll their little trucks around and fill them with rocks and caterpillars for hours.

What a weird question. Implying that girls shouldn’t be camping? My kids have all been camping with me since they were about six months old or so. They’re great campers and have a ton of fun.

+1

My kids have gone with me (just me!) since they were ~10 months.

Vacation of any kind with little kids sucks. Sure you can do it but it is always just A LOT of work and while possibly fun - not relaxing at all.
