Who goes camping with a 2-year-old and a 4-year-old?

No, what a strange question. Single parents are not allowed to go ?? with their kids? Custodial parents are not allowed? Sporty moms whose DHs are staying home to watch soccer are not allowed to go camping with their kids, I mean just throwing one scenario of millions out there

It would be a lot to handle logistically, but otherwise I wouldn't think anything of it. We went recently with kids that age age and enjoyed it, but I am not sure either of us would do it solo until they were older.

I've just never heard of it. Toddlers are hard enough to handle, fussy, and the two-year-old would still need special foods. It just seems young to camp and a lot of hassle for one parent alone.

It's not my idea of fun, but it's not strange. I wish I was more outdoorsy and enjoyed camping more.

What special foods does a 2 year old require?

Camping is definitely easier with 2 parents, but an experienced camper/attentive parent should have no trouble. I loved camping as a kid, and we went all the time, including at those ages.

I took both my kids camping starting at age 2. They loved it. What do you suggest instead---that they sit inside and watch Daniel Tiger all day?

My kids were great campers at those ages. No need for special food, they slept great because they were tired from swimming all day, the novelty of sleeping in a tent makes 4 yo kids excited to go to bed. Kids in diapers are actually easier than older kids, no need for middle of the night trips to the bathroom.

Oh come on, if the kids were eight and ten this would make perfect sense. But one is barely walking and the other is learning ABCs. It's a little strange and it's hard enough to keep crap out of toddler/baby hands in a house. In a freaking park?! No way. I'd be worried about everything - mushrooms, snakes, foot-high water.
