| The idea that anyone cares about this is honestly mind-boggling. You guys need hobbies. |
Well, you certainly proved that.
|
| Wait, so what exactly are they learning in Preschool or Kindergarden that qualifies those as "school" but daycare not!?! OMG. This culture. It's like there's a magic line between ages 1 - 4 and 5 - 18. Guess what, there's not. |
The child is cared for at home too, correct? You don’t even realize how ignorant you sound, and yet you’re bragging about spending more time with your child. The irony is boggling though I’m sure you don’t get that. |
What would I feel. Ad about, regardless of what you call it? DD is in a nurturing place where adults take good care of her, she is learning a ton (hard and soft skills), making friends, and I am able to continue a fulfilling steer. It is good for her, good for me, and good for my family. I have no guilt at all and neither do other parents from what I can tell. |
| Daycare is not school. It's weird to call it that. Do people refer to their nanny or babysitter as teacher, too? |
What the vomit is all this garbage about? |
I'm sure you'll continue saying that you send your 2 year old to school instead of daycare to make yourself feel good. |
I'm the one whose friends in NYC were always referring to their kids' schools when the kids were 3 mos to 18 mos old. I didn't care -- I was single and childless at that point and I wouldn't have cared if they said they were dropping their kid off on Mars every morning. But it became noticeable and odd when people would go on about how they absolutely NEED TO buy/rent on the upper east side or downtown or wherever because they couldn't rip their kid out of his SCHOOL. Meanwhile I'm thinking -- uh Bright Horizons, don't they have another one in our office building?? Also got a kick out of the fact that once the kids were 2-4 yrs old and into that "what will you be when you grow up" stage, the mommies would beam with pride as their little geniuses would say orthodontist, investment banker, ophthalmologist (despite not having parents in those jobs). Seems like the high dollar Manhattan daycares that indoctrinate the parents that they are schools also indoctrinate the little tykes about high $$$ professions bc these climbers do NOT want their kids coming home and saying they want to be firemen or truckers. |
Oh, aren’t you cute. I don’t have a 2 year old. I have a 7 year old and a 4 year old, in elementary and preschool. And your homeschooled kids will turn out totally normal, for sure. You sweetie you. |

Oh dear. Are these places supposed to impress us? |
I don’t really care, I just think it’s hilarious. |
What’s your hobby? You’re on DCUM, too. |
You make NO sense. |
