4. Ross
5. Mundo
6. Stokes—Brookland (Spanish)
7. Hearst

Swami, the cocktails are playing a larger role in your predictions than in previous years.

1. Yu Ying
2. Stokes Spanish
3. Stokes French
4. Mundo Verde
5. Inspired Teaching
6. Lee
7. Two Rivers 4th
8. Two Rivers Young
9. Shining Stars
10. JO Wilson
11. Bruce-Monroe (English dominant)
12. Langley

DH believes that not listing Noyes, our IB, is a good plan because we can add it back right after the lottery and would jump the list. I would have preferred to eliminate Bruce-Monroe as too unlikely and keep Noyes to avoid the uncertainty. What does Swami think?

I’m also a Brookland parent and feel like you listed only reach schools...I’m not even sure Langley is very easy to get into

One of our neighbors got into Langley last year despite being pretty far down the list, so I think it is not too hard. But more importantly, is DH's strategy of adding Noyes the day after the lottery a safe one? As I understand it, we would be placed high on the list because we are IB and then would get in if any spots opened up, and they probably would, right? He wanted to do this so that he could have 12 other schools, but I thought 12 was overkill anyway...

Not Swami but I think you’ll be fine adding Noyes post-lottery. I did the same thing for our IB last year (Seaton..got cold feet on a HRCS I ranked highly and was matched at, which meant all of my other schools dropped off) and was offered a seat on May 2. I am not that familiar with Noyes but unless it is super competitive I think you’ll get a wait list offer eventually.

Applied for PK3 with no sib preference. Already got into LAMB (!). Will relocate if necessary for school (that’s why the schools are geographically all over the place).

Mundo Verde
Two Rivers 4th Street
Two Rivers @ Young
Inspired Teaching
Creative Minds International
Stokes
DC Bilingual
Maury (IB preference)

Not Swami. Current Hearst 2nd is biggest grade in school. No OOB accepted since their K year because of that. Good luck.

Wait. Re-reading maybe you are liking for 4th? Current 3rd at Hearst is small so maybe.

One egg in this basket, Swami. What say ye?

Swami needs to know if you have any preferences? (IB, etc?)

No preferences. Not even walking distance.

Not Swami, but Spanish supposedly more popular than French. IOW if you don't get French, unlikely to get Spanish.

PK3, no sibling preference

1. DC Bilingual
2. Capital City
3. Shepherd
4. Creative Minds
5. Breakthrough
6. Takoma (IB guarantee)

Swami says you'll get into Breakthrough, and re-enter the lottery for Takoma IB because the location uncertainty freaks you out too much.

Sounds about right . Thanks, Swami.
